HOme INspection Process
Prior to the chosen date of your home inspection, your home inspector will send you an email with our standard client agreement for your review. This agreement will be completed by you and your inspector before the inspection begins.
Your inspector will meet you at the property on the agreed upon date and time. The inspection itself can take approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on the size and state of the property being inspected. You are encouraged to accompany your inspector during the inspection process and they will be happy to address any questions or concerns that may arise.
Following the guidelines set out in the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (CAHPI) National Standards of Practice and while observing the limitations and exclusions described therein, your inspector will perform a visual examination of the home’s systems and components including but not limited to:
Roof Systems
Plumbing Systems
Exterior Systems
Electrical Systems
Interior Systems
Structural Systems
Heating Systems
Insulation & Vapour Retarders
Air Conditioning Systems
Ventilation Systems
Within 24 hours following the physical inspection of the property, your inspector will send you an email with a link to your personal detailed professional report. The report is provided electronically in PDF format, and will outline any observed flaws or deficiencies noted during the inspection and will provide associated recommendations. After reviewing your report, our inspectors are available to answer any questions you may have.
